Structure of news reports 

 ● News reports aim to a mass audience of different educational levels the latest news in the simple and easy to understand language.

● News reports are mostly made up of four parts: Headline, The lead, Body and Conclusion. They often come in the form of “the inverted pyramid”. That is to say, the most important information is usually included in the lead part, which provides further information on who, what, when, where, how and why.

It summarizes the news, catches the reader’s eyes and comments on the news. A headline, which does not arouse the audience’s interest at first glance, is not a good one.

  The most important information is usually included in the lead part, which provides further information on who, what, when, where, how and why.

  The body part offers the detailed information such as some facts and comments.

  The tail part is optional. It often provide some background or supporting information.
