They have barely enough (= no more than what is needed) to pay the rent this month.他们本月差点就付不起房租。

She was barely (= only just) 15 when she won her first championship. 她首次获得冠军时刚刚15岁。

（1）当never, seldom, few, little, barely, hardly, scarcely, rarely, no, not  等含有否定意义的副词及其构成的短语放在句首，句子要用部分倒装，即把be动词/情态动词/助动词提至主语前面。

（2） 句型：barely/hardly/scarcely...when... 一……就…… = No sooner ... than

（注：在此句型中，主句用过去完成时，从句用一般过去时；当barely/hardly/scarcely放在句首时，主句要用倒装结构。）
