Peking University made waves with a unique course designed to combat student weight gain. "Physical Ability Enhancement: Exercise and Nutrition" boasts impressive results, with one-third of participants losing over 5 percent of their body weight and over half reducing their waist circumference by more than 5 centimeters.
北京大学日前开设了一门“减肥课”，引起了不小的轰动。“让三分之一学生减重5%以上、半数学生腰围降低5公分以上”打响了这们课程的名号。

The program specifically targets overweight and obese students, defined by a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 25.
这门课专门针对超重和肥胖的学生，只有BMI超过25的同学可以报名。

Obesity is generally measured using the body mass index (a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of their height in meters). If the BMI exceeds 24, the person is considered overweight, and if it exceeds 28, this is considered obesity.
身体质量指数（BMI，Body Mass Index）通过体重（公斤）除以身高（米）的平方来计算的。BMI如果超过24，会被判定为超重，一旦超过28，则被视为肥胖。

One of the original intentions of teacher Zhang Xiaoyuan in launching the course was to help students who are anxious about physical fitness testing. On the other hand, "I also opened this course to help everyone establish the correct health concept. Our enrollment requirement is BMI over 25, as long as the weight or body fat is within the normal range, it is considered a normal body shape. These students do not need to lose weight." Zhang also hopes that through this special and very clear enrollment requirement, those students who do not need to lose weight will correctly view their body shape."
这门课的主讲老师张晓园表示：“我开这门课也是想帮助（为体测）焦虑的同学行动起来，同时帮助大家树立正确的健康观念。我们的报名条件是BMI>25，只要体重或体脂在正常范围内，就属于正常身材，他们无需减肥。我也想帮助不需要减重的同学正确看待自己的身材。”

可以触摸的文明！我国首家视障文化博物馆揭牌

A museum was inaugurated Saturday in Beijing to provide the visually impaired people with tactile and auditory experiences.
近日，一家为视障人士提供触觉和听觉体验的视障文化博物馆在京揭幕。

The museum, with an exhibition area of about 1,050 square meters, displays over 700 exhibits.
该博物馆展区面积约 1050平方米，展品数量700余件。

Set within the China Braille Library, it also features a section for popularizing ophthalmology knowledge.
它设立在中国盲文图书馆内，并设有爱眼护眼展厅。

At the inauguration ceremony, Lai Wei, head of China Braille Press, pledged efforts to build the museum into a comprehensive hub, encompassing an educational base, an exhibition center, and a center for research, exchange, and culture and leisure for the visually impaired people.
在揭幕仪式上，中国盲文出版社党委书记、社长赖伟表示，视障文化博物馆将打造成为视障文化的教育基地、视障文化的收藏和展示中心、视障文化的研究和交流中心以及视障群体的文化休闲中心。

> Word of the day丨 regulation of prepayment for elderly care services
每日一词丨养老服务预收费监管

A guideline on regulating prepayment for elderly care services has been issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and six other departments lately. The guideline encourages providing elderly care services through monthly payment. When prepayment is involved, it says, the maximum prepayment period for elderly service fees should not exceed 12 months.
民政部等七部门近日联合发布关于加强养老机构预收费监管的指导意见，鼓励养老机构采用当月收取费用的方式，并规定养老服务费预收的周期最长不得超过12个月。

【知识点】

养老机构预收费是指养老机构提前向老年人或者其代理人收取一定额度费用，并承诺在一定时间内，按照服务协议约定提供相应养老服务的行为。养老机构预收的费用主要包括养老服务费、押金和会员费。养老服务费是指床位费、照料护理费、餐费等费用；押金是指为老年人就医等应急需要、偿还拖欠费用、赔偿财物损失等作担保的费用；会员费是指养老机构以“会员卡”“贵宾卡”等形式收取的，用于老年人获得服务资格、使用设施设备、享受服务优惠等的费用。

近年来，一些养老机构采取预收费方式运营，一定程度缓解了设施建设资金不足等问题，纾解了运营压力。但是，也有少数养老机构出现了资金管理使用不规范，资金链断裂后“退费难”“爆雷”“跑路”等问题，甚至有的不法分子实施非法集资、诈骗等犯罪行为，严重损害老年人合法权益，扰乱养老服务市场秩序。

为此，民政部、国家发展改革委、公安部、财政部、中国人民银行、市场监管总局、金融监管总局联合发布关于加强养老机构预收费监管的指导意见，自2024年10月1日起施行，有效期5年。其中提到，主要目标是，2025年前，建立健全跨部门养老机构预收费监管工作机制，协同监管进一步优化，预收费资金监测预警、风险隐患排查和违法违规行为的处置能力有效提升，养老服务市场更加公平有序，非法集资风险隐患有效减少，老年人对养老服务消费的满意度稳步提高。
